  • Do I need to create a member login to conduct my transaction?
Yes, this helps us maintain site access exclusively for members of Lambda Pi. This site serves as a hub intended to create a community for our members. Behind the membership wall, you will have access to the shared photo gallery and groups page, which function like Facebook, allowing you to communicate and exchange information with each other as needed. Once you register, you will receive a notification that your account must be approved. Please allow up to 3 hours for your request to be processed.
  • Why are the registration packages limited to one option?
The all-inclusive package is designed to provide registration efficiencies and the best value, combining multiple events and gifts into one package. This often results in cost savings compared to purchasing each activity separately. However, we also recognize that some members may not be able to attend all events. To accommodate this, we are offering à la carte tickets for key activities: Fire & Ice 50th Anniversary Celebration Homecoming Tailgate GVSU Black Alumni Network Event Sisterhood & Scholarship Brunch
  • Can family members or friends attend the 50th Anniversary Celebration?
We gladly welcome any family members or friends who wish to accompany you for the weekend activities. However, please take note of the schedule for Delta-only activities, as these events are exclusive to members. For other events, you will need to purchase tickets separately for any guests who join you. Additionally, please be aware that we do not provide childcare services. Therefore, children must always be under parental supervision.

  • What is the hotel booking cutoff date?
The hotel booking cutoff date is Thursday, October 3, 2024
  • Why should I book a room at the host hotel?
Anticipated Room Block Pickup is a group of guest rooms that the hotel puts on hold at a specifically negotiated rate for our group. If Delta is unable to achieve its room block commitment because attendees are making reservations outside of the official room block or canceling/shortening their stay, the hotel charges the chapter an attrition fee to make up for its loss in anticipated room revenue per our signed hotel contract. Our chapter negotiated the best rate to ensure attendees were offered the most economical rate possible for their stay. By booking within the official room block, you help us avoid costly attrition fees and ensure we meet our contractual obligations. This helps us keep costs down for everyone and ensures a successful event for all. Please consider this when booking your room, as the chapter cannot afford to take the loss. Let's ensure every dollar goes towards making this anniversary celebration one of the best in Lambda Pi's history!
  • Why are we co-hosting the celebration with the Alphas?
The Iota Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was chartered at GVSU on December 4, 1974. They are also celebrating their 50th anniversary during homecoming. To spotlight the existence and accomplishments of both organizations, we agreed that co-hosting the celebratory event under the name of "Fire & Ice 50th Anniversary Soiree" was the right thing to do. Co-hosting allows us to maximize resources, foster unity with another historic Black Greek-lettered and unity among GVSU Black Alumni and to highlight and celebrate shared accomplishments of both chapters. We believe that this collaborative approach will enhance the celebratory experience for everyone involved, creating a richer and more inclusive event.
  • Are there sponsorship opportunities?
Yes, and the sponsorship packet will be available very soon. The sponsorship packet will detail various levels of support for corporations, foundations, small business owners, and individuals. We will notify you as soon as the packet is available.
